The family law team are delighted to report on a recent success story; acting for a father applying for a child arrangements order to see his children. To some London family law solicitors the father would be “just another case” but solicitor, Angelique Holm, was determined to help and completely understood the father’s fears about not seeing his children again.

When Angelique Holm first met the father, he had not seen his children for over a year. He worried that he would never get to see his children again. Angelique knew that delay was not in the father or children’s best interests so an application for a child arrangements order was launched quickly. The mother prevaricated and suggested indirect contact. Knowing the importance of quickly reinstating quality time between father and children, Angelique Holm pushed for an interim court order so contact could recommence.

This is just the first stage in this father rebuilding his relationship with his children and getting the child arrangements order that he and his children deserve.

The father and his new partner, who had shopped around for a family law solicitor before coming to OTS Solicitors, say:

We just wanted to say a HUGE thank-you for your assistance with this, and all of your team. J is understandably delighted with the result which was not easy, and this stage would not have gone half so well had it not been for all of your support, patience and determination to get a result this early.”

Angelique Holm is just as delighted by this father’s court success. We hope the success story offers hope to parents in the same situation as this father and shows that determination can reap rewards.

Divorce Financial Settlement reached at the First (FDA) Hearing!
Client was in the process of his divorce proceedings when he approached us. He received numerous very unreasonable offers from his ex-spouse in respect of how their matrimonial finances should be split. In this case it was a long marriage of 20 + years with two grown up children and one in their teens. Also, the parties had equally contributed to the family life. Our client felt cornered with these unreasonable proposals and therefore, came to us for help.

When you decide to separate or divorce it can feel liberating and the start of a new chapter in your life. That new beginning may involve a move overseas with your children or a relocation to the UK as part of your post-divorce journey. However, it can come as a surprise to learn from family solicitors that whilst a parent based in the UK can move abroad, their dependent children can only accompany them if the other parent has given permission or the English Court has made a relocation order.
Family lawyers and judges talk of findings but what is meant by a ‘finding of fact’? What are the implications of the family court making a finding of fact? In this article our family solicitors and domestic abuse lawyers consider how a finding of domestic abuse might have an impact on you and your family.
