Chrissie’s experience of work at a multinational brokerage house and securities regulation think-tank prior to her legal career, means she is adept at resolving financial claims on separation and divorce and is not fazed by financial disclosure, family businesses, complex asset and investment structures or the need to trace hidden assets.
Having worked as a New York litigator, Chrissie is focused and tenacious. She prides herself on her impressive success rate in international children relocation cases as well as her ability to grasp figures, see the essentials of a financial or property case and to negotiate a deal. If she cannot reach a financial settlement then Chrissie has experience in dealing with the family court at all levels, including the Court of Appeal and UK Supreme Court.
Chrissie knows how complex property law claims for cohabitees can be. She has developed a growing practice of representing cohabitees on relationship breakdown, particularly where property interests are in dispute. With her attention to detail and love of figures, Chrissie has an impressive track record of achieving results for her clients. Prior to her 2019 appointment at OTS Solicitors, Chrissie acted in:
- Complex and acrimonious divorce financial court proceedings, achieving a significant departure from the equal sharing principle and defeating legal arguments about contribution claims, wanton dissipation and third-party property interests.
- Negotiating a settlement in complex property proceedings (ToLATA) for a cohabitee. The case involved associated business interests and counter allegations of misconduct. The client was able to realise all the property interests held by him, secured by appropriate indemnities.
- After the client transferred solicitor instructions to Chrissie, representing a non-party witness through the financial disclosure process and at the final hearing in the widely publicised case of Chai v Peng & Others EWHC 792 (Fam).
- Advising the successful applicant in a child relocation case in NJ v OV EWHC 4130, that was upheld on appeal (Re B (Child) (Relocation: Sweden) EWCA Civ 286).
What peers say about Chrissie
“Chrissie has the advantage of a rare combination: she has an easy manner, whilst being bright and tenacious. A formidable civil litigator both in and out of court, I have had the pleasure of seeing her work on high-value and complex cases and would readily recommend her”.

“Chrissie’s dedication and vigour pervade all the work that she does. She pursues her clients’ cases with drive and determination, whilst still exercising her own charming brand of pragmatic realism. Whether settling or fighting a case, Chrissie applies great attention to detail and her knowledge of procedure means that costs are only incurred effectively. She gets results. Her clients feel thoroughly supported by Chrissie, and it is no surprise that so much of her work comes about through referrals”.
